USA CBD Expo in Las Vegas

Updated: Feb 20, 2020

SO MUCH CBD!

Last week I attended the USA CBD Expo in Las Vegas, and to say that it was an experience is quite the understatement! I didn't want to return back to cloudy Pittsburgh! ::sad face:: But I was happy to return home to my boys and to bring some new information back to you guys!

There are lots, and lots, and LOTS of CBD products out there so choosing one can be very overwhelming. I was getting samples as I walked through the expo but had to stop myself and save some for later so I didn't over do it, because too much CBD will make you sleepy for sure! Of the booths that were there, I grabbed around a dozen business cards and info of companies that I felt were not gimmicky and were reputable with quality products. In the next couple weeks I will be doing more research on those products to ensure their quality by using test subjects and looking into their certificates of analysis.

Gimmicks?

I can now totally see why people are skeptical of CBD and the industry in general. Being at this expo really opened my eyes to that. There are a lot of gimmicky products out there. Lots of big hemp leaves, or flashy packaging that scream 'Vape Shop'. Also products missing important information such as a QR code or an easy way to access 3rd party lab results/Certificates of Analysis. A lot of products also had quite a few "additives" and by that I mean essential oils or other supplements that may aid (or mask) the workings of CBD. Although gimmicky, a lot of products there were pretty cool; a CBD mattress, a CBD pillow, CBD nasal spray, and more. Now they may not offer the best results for health benefits, but they still seem like fun to try! Now just remember, this is why it's important to do your research before purchasing a CBD product. Or you can just trust in me to do it for you!

The good stuff!

I did find some really cool and innovative products out there, and got to see what makes companies different from each other in terms of quality and variety. I sat in on a couple presentations and learned a bit more about CBD for muscle recovery, and how to face upcoming challenges in the industry. I was also able to learn more about different formulations and extraction techniques of CBD and how companies are now using terpenes more in their products to help aid in more targeted ailments or issues. OH OH! AND I got to meet Ronnie Magro from the Jersey Shore! He endorses Verge CBD products and was at their booth when I stopped by! That was certainly a highlight of my trip as he is quite the stud and I'm totally guilty of being a Jersey Shore fan since day 1!

The Take Away

Overall the CBD Expo was a great experience. I made some good connections and learned a lot from a variety of different people and conversations. Being in Vegas in and of itself was incredible. I got to visit Planet 13, the largest dispensary in the world! I also stopped by Reef Dispensary which is the home of Wiz Khalifa's Khalifa Kush! Being in a recreational state with such prominent dispensaries was amazing! The knowledge of the staff and the quality of the products were impeccable. I'm really looking forward to what the future of CBD holds. There's so much product out there and still so much to learn! I can't wait to educate and inform you guys about it all!
