CBD Watermelon Sherbet

Watch out watermelon White Claw, you've got some competition...or is it a companion?

I know that right now it's kind of difficult to think of enjoying a nice cool treat on a warm summer day, but remember, this too shall pass! This delicious watermelon sherbet recipe is the perfect spring or summertime snack! We're going to shake things up a bit and add some CBD to the recipe so that not only can this sherbet cool us down, it will chill us out! This recipe uses only a few ingredients which makes it super quick and easy to make!

The CBD that we're using in this recipe is SunMed's 300mg Strawberry Lime Water Soluble product. You can use broad or full spectrum CBD (as SunMed offers both), just be sure to use a water soluble product. Water soluble CBD is a nano emulsified formulation designed to be absorbed faster for quicker results. The onset is closer to 10 minutes as opposed to 45 minutes or more when consuming a tincture or edible. We'll be using 30mg total CBD for this recipe, making each 1/2 cup serving a 5mg dose. Because of the formulation of the water soluble CBD, a 5mg dose can have the efficacy of up to 20mg at onset due to it's quick absorption. Experienced CBD users can double the dose, making each half cup serving 10mg of CBD, if desired.

What you will need:

- 3 cups seedless watermelon cubes (frozen solid, about 1 inch in size) a small personal sized watermelon will yield about 7 cups of watermelon cubes

-1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

-30mg (3ml) strawberry lime water soluble CBD (SunMed brand)

- 1/2 squeezed lime (optional)

What to do:

1. Cut watermelon into 1 inch cubes and freeze for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. (If already frozen, skip to step 2)

2. Put 3ml or 3 dropperfuls (30mg) of the water soluble CBD into the yogurt. Mix extremely well to ensure the CBD is distributed evenly throughout the yogurt.

3. Add half of the frozen watermelon cubes to a large food processor and a few drops of lime juice if desired. Process until the watermelon breaks down. Stop the food processor and add half of the yogurt and a few more drops of lime juice to taste. Process until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary. Scoop the sorbet into a separate container and repeat steps with the remaining ingredients.

4. Serve immediately for a frozen yogurt/soft-serve consistency. For a firmer consistency, freeze for 1 to 2 hours and then scoop. Leftovers may be frozen, but keep in mind that the sherbet will be very hard and almost impossible to scoop straight out of the freezer. Instead, place the container of frozen sherbet in the refrigerator to slowly soften for 3 hours before serving, at which point it should be much easier to scoop.

There are lots of different variations to this recipe so that you can customize it to your personal liking; you can remove the yogurt, add in more fruit, or even add in your favorite alcoholic beverage! As hard as it is to see right now, there is a light at the end of this crazy tunnel. Now we'll be deliciously prepared and have a frozen CBD treat to help get us to the other side, calmly! Be smart. Stay safe. Be kind. Stay medicated!

*This recipe will yield 6 one-half cup servings of sherbet, with 5mg of CBD each
