Let's Get Cooking! (with CBD)

Yep, you read that right! This section of the blog is going to be all about how to incorporate CBD into your food or beverages! CBD edibles can be used as needed or they can be used as your preferred method of consumption. Edibles are a fun way to get some (or all) of your daily dose of CBD while enjoying yummy treats in the process!

Important things to know when cooking or baking with CBD:

Tincture- CBD oil. It does NOT mix with water!

Water Soluble (emulsified)- A CBD product created with nano-technology designed to deliver quicker results. This can be mixed into any liquid! (except oil!)

DO NOT microwave your CBD edibles. The microwaves reduce the potency of the cannabinoids.

Be mindful of temperature when cooking or baking with CBD. Cannabinoids will lose their potency if baked or cooked at too high of a temperature. It's advised not to exceed 356 degrees Fahrenheit when cooking with CBD. This is why microwaving isn't advised as you can't control or get an accurate read of the temperature.

Dosing:

You must be mindful when dosing your CBD for edibles! This is the most challenging part of cooking with CBD and cannabis in general. Know what dose you're comfortable at, and measure it out correctly. If you're making hummus for example, you'll want to know how much CBD per tablespoon of hummus. This will allow for safe and effective consumption. Overdoing it could lead to a (very restful) sleep or flooding of the receptors. Neither of which would be harmful, but could essentially be a waste of CBD.

Here's a quick, simple recipe to start us off with only TWO ingredients!

CBD honey butter

1-10mg CBD honey stick (Sunmed CBD honey stick was used)

6oz of butter at room temperature (grass fed or European butter preferably as those have higher fat content)

Combine the honey stick with the room temperature butter

Whip until thoroughly mixed

Add it to warm cornbread and enjoy!

This yields about 12 tablespoons of butter with less than 1mg of CBD per tablespoon, so this is a recipe you can be a little indulgent with!

**Make sure to keep ALL CBD edibles and products out of the reach of children at all times.
